About the Agriculture and Rural Development (A+RD) Network

The first Millennium Development Goal strives for halving the proportion of hungry people between 1990 and 2015, yet we are nowhere near meeting that target. In 2010, an inacceptable 925 million starving people are still waiting for a famine free era. Reason enough for the international development community to rethink their approaches and investments. The world cannot avoid paying more attention to agriculture, food security and rural development.

The A+RD Network is the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s thematic network for issues related to development cooperation in agriculture, food security and rural development. The A+RD network promotes knowledge exchange and sharing of practical experiences among development practitioners with links to SDC’s activities. more »
